Piccini Family Estate in Chianti Classico Area
Named after the Latin term for “valor,” this prestigious estate is located in Castelnuovo Berardenga , on the southern side of the Chianti Classico zone. In the 1960’s the land was owned by he President of the Italian Republic Giovanni Gronchi, and now it belongs to the Piccini Famiy.
The Valiano estate covers a total surface of 230 hectares, of which 70 hectares are dedicated to specialized vineyards. The varieties cultivated are mainly Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Chardonnay.
The vineyards are located at 400 m asl, in perfect harmony with the soil typology (clayey and rocky soil with excellent natural drainage.) The particular position of the vineyards, the soil and the climate contribute to create the perfect conditions for producing excellent quality wines. Harvesting is carried out exclusively by hand, with scrupulous selection of grapes. The entire winemaking process, aging and bottling takes place on the estate.
